About Us
“I think having land and not ruining it is the most beautiful art that anybody could ever want to own.”
Our Practices
We take pride in the loving care of our animals and our relationship with the environment — so our practices are grounded in these core values
Our laying hens are pasture-raised and fed an organic diet with no added hormones or GMOs — this careful diet is completed with produce grown on our farm. The girls live in a safe and happy home with a free run of their own large field. This protects them from predators, while giving them all the benefits of natural foraging.
When one of our girls is hurt or sick, she is separated from the flock and cared for using current best veterinary practices. We treat them like the valuable members of our family that they are, and we actually do name them!
Our produce is all naturally grown using organic practices. We apply mindful soil conservation and management practices, encourage pollinator habitats on our property, and avoid harmful pesticides, fertilizers, and other chemicals. We employ full-circle fertilization using composted manure from our own animals and composted vegetation from our farm.
Our practices are validated through CNG (Certified Naturally Grown) certification; and our farm is a Certified Wildlife Habitat recognized by the National Wildlife Federation, as well as a designated Monarch Waystation by the Monarch Watch Foundation. But more importantly — see for yourself! Contact us to take a farm tour to meet the girls and see our practices first hand. Sometimes there are even baby chicks to hold!
